Frequently Asked Questions

About the Model & Eligibility

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC) and how is it different?

DPC removes insurance companies from the patient-doctor relationship. Instead of copays and fee-for-service billing, you pay a transparent monthly membership. This grants you longer visits (30–60 minutes), same-day or next-day scheduling, and direct access to Dr. Bray via text or phone. DPC News. DPC Nation. Massively Better Healthcare. DPC Alliance. Hint Health.

Do you accept health insurance?

No. We do not contract with insurance plans or bill them. This frees us from administrative burdens and arbitrary restrictions, allowing us to focus entirely on your health. However, we strongly recommend you maintain a major medical plan, health sharing ministry, or high-deductible policy for catastrophic events like surgery or hospitalization.

However, new for 2026, you can now use your Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for your monthly membership fees. This offers a powerful “Triple Tax Benefit”:

  1. Tax-Deductible Contributions: You put money into your HSA tax-free.
  2. Tax-Free Growth: Your funds grow without being taxed.
  3. Tax-Free Payments: You can now withdraw those funds tax-free to pay your Archangel Michael Health membership.

Note: Federal rules cap HSA payments for Direct Primary Care at $150/month for individuals and $300/month for families.

Can I use my insurance for labs, imaging, and referrals?

While we do not bill insurance for our visits, we can typically order labs, X-rays, MRIs, and specialist referrals through facilities that accept your insurance.

Money-Saving Tip: For patients with high deductibles or no insurance, we have negotiated special cash-pay rates. These options are often significantly cheaper (sometimes 1/10th the price) than insurance rates for blood work, imaging, medications, and supplements.

What ages do you treat?

We primarily treat adults 18 and older. We can accept patients aged 16 and 17 if they are enrolled under a family plan. For children under 16, we recommend establishing care with a dedicated pediatrician or family medicine practice.

Location, Hours & House Calls

Where is the clinic located?

We do not currently maintain a physical office. By avoiding expensive real estate overhead, we can keep membership fees affordable and visit times long. We provide care via Telehealth and, for local patients, house calls. A physical location is being considered for late 2026/2027.

Which states do you serve?

Dr. Bray is licensed to provide Telehealth care to patients in Florida, Georgia, Texas, Arizona, and North Carolina. He is licensed through the IMLCC.

Do you offer house calls?

Yes. For patients residing within Alachua County, Florida, house calls are included in your regular subscription fee. This service includes visiting you at home or even at the hospital if you are admitted.

What are your hours?
  • Standard Hours: Mon–Fri 9am–5pm; Sat 10am–2pm.
  • Emergency Access: Dr. Bray is available 24/7 for urgent needs.
  • Flexibility: If you need to be seen outside standard hours, we can accommodate your schedule.

Services & Membership

What is the difference between Internal, Lifestyle, Integrative, and Functional Medicine?

Dr. Bray utilizes all four to provide complete care:

  • Lifestyle Medicine: Using behavior—such as nutrition, sleep, stress management, and movement—as a primary prescription to treat and often reverse disease.
  • Internal Medicine: The foundation of adult primary care, focusing on diagnosis and management of complex chronic diseases.
  • Integrative & Functional Medicine: Approaches that look beyond symptoms to find the “root cause” of illness, combining conventional medicine with evidence-based holistic therapies.
    What services are included?

Your membership covers comprehensive primary care, chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, etc.), sick visits, and hormone health optimization. Uniquely, we also incorporate Lifestyle and Integrative Medicine—addressing root causes like nutrition and lifestyle rather than just treating symptoms.

    What is the cancellation policy?

You may cancel at any time with no fees or long-term commitment. If we are unable to help you after you sign up, your first month is refunded. Note: If you cancel and wish to restart your membership later, a re-enrollment fee will apply.

    Is my medical record private?

Yes. We use Athena Health, a top-tier Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Your data is never shared with outside agencies unless required by law. Our systems are regularly audited for compliance with all State and Federal privacy laws, including HIPAA. Medical records are maintained for a minimum of 7 years, accessible by you or those you delegate.
